Preparing for Halloween early and looking for a pumpkin picking farm that you’ll be able to visit with the family this year? If you’re looking for a fun-filled spooky day or evening out this Halloween, Hatters Farm in Takeley is here to provide you and the entire family with your pumpkin needs - with our 50 varieties of pumpkins available for picking, as well as a range of hair-raising spooky Halloween activities to take part in too.


We have both our pumpkin days and pumpkin nights; so if you fancy either a day-trip or a spooky evening trip to Hatters Farm then you are welcome. We also have a range of eerie Halloween activities for you and the entire family to take part in, including our maize maze and pumpkin cannon making Hatters Farm the perfect place to visit to get your spooky fix.

Pick Your Own Pumpkin



We grow thousands of pumpkins and squashes at Hatters Farm for you to choose from, whether you like big pumpkins, small pumpkins, or orange or white pumpkins we have over 50 varieties for you to choose from. So you can take an amble around our pumpkin patch, picking the perfect pumpkin or pumpkins to take home with you.


The whole family is welcome to our pumpkin patch, and you can book easily via our website. You’re welcome to stay for up to two hours at Hatters Farm, giving you plenty of time to pick your pumpkins, enjoy a coffee and some food, and try out some of our activities or explore our farm shop. We recommend you come earlier in October, to avoid any rain and muddy weather.


Pumpkin Nights


Fancy strolling through our pumpkin patch at night? Bring your torches and keep an eye out for ghouls as you visit one of our pumpkin nights, and soak up the spooky atmosphere under the moonlit sky. You will be able to choose from our thousands of pumpkins and squashes in our pumpkin patch, as well as grab some food and refreshments.


If you’re feeling brave, you can head into the maize maze and get lost trying to find your way back. Or try out our pumpkin cannon and fire our pumpkins at our spooky Halloween-themed targets with the family. Our pumpkin nights will be open every evening on the 23rd, 24th, and 26th - 30th of October.


There are less tickets available for our pumpkin nights than our daytime sessions, so make sure to book your tickets way in advance to avoid disappointment. You can take a look at our Instagram to see last year's pumpkin picking and our fun Halloween events.


Start Planning your Visit to Hatters Farm Today


To visit Hatters Farm for either our daytime pumpkin picking or pumpkin nights, you will need to book tickets. Tickets cost £1 per person, plus a booking fee. You will be able to book an arrival slot for your pumpkin day or evening closer to the time of opening. Keep an eye out for when tickets go live as they do sell out quickly.
